My recent stay at this hotel, nestled beside a serene lake, was a mix of relaxation and culinary exploration. The location's proximity to the train station made travel seamless, facilitating my quick escape to the architectural wonders nearby. The clean, spacious rooms offered delightful views, and the comfortable bedding ensured a good night's sleep before embarking on my explorations. Despite my anticipation for the hotel restaurant, I was disappointed to find it closed on my first evening. As a lover of culinary innovation, I had hoped to delve into traditional French dishes, yet the well-reviewed Indian restaurant next door, La Soupiere du Lac, provided a satisfying alternative. During my single night stay, I quickly discovered the ambiance of the nearby locale sparked my imagination. The hotel staff were welcoming, though their limited English posed challenges. Ultimately, while the experience was brief and the restaurant's unpredictability was a letdown, the inviting atmosphere and clean facilities still made for a pleasant getaway in this architecturally charming part of Germany.
